However, these websites are being abused badly by all the MLM and insurance agents. They simply click on every resume on the site to get you notified as a form of advertising.
Why do they do this?
For such companies, the more members they recruit, the higher chance they can make money. For MLM companies, obviously for every member they recruit, the more commission they can get; whereby, for insurance companies, the manager or team leader can also get over-ridding fee on every case their team members closed. For both types of companies, there is no cost involved for recruiting new member and therefore, they do not hesitate to gather more people, including all the "aunties" and "uncles".

Hi there,
Thank you for highlighting this issue. JobsCentral agrees with you totally on this issue of spam and possible abuse by
MLM and Insurance companies. We have put in place some
measures to solve this issue.
Firstly, we do not allow MLM firms to use our services at
all. If you come across any, let us know and we will ban
them. Secondly, our terms do not condone employers who
request for resumes for non recruitment purposes. Again if
we learn about this, we will ban that employer too.
Thirdly, we have built privacy features that allow
jobseekers to opt out from receiving resume requests from
all employers. Jobseekers can also further specify if they
do not wish to receive requests from specifically from
Insurance Companies. The above copy of
the resume request email in your blog has been truncated.
The rest of the message explains how to control individual
settings to block mining.
To summarise, all users on JobsCentral have full control
over who views their resume. However, we are fully aware
there will always be employers who circumvent our rules and
abuse our systems. In such cases, let us know and we will
investigate and not hesitate to ban the employer if the
truth is established.
Please feel free to contact me at hazel@jobscentral.com.sg
if there are further queries.
Thanks!
yours sincerely,
